Applications are now open for the CERN Doctoral Student Program 2026 in Switzerland. This is a fully funded PhD opportunity for international students who wish to complete their doctoral thesis in one of the world’s leading research centers. The program lasts 3 years (36 months), giving candidates the chance to conduct their research at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.

Eligibility Criteria of the CERN Student Program

  • Must be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
  • Must have started or be about to start a doctoral program at a university
  • Completed at least 18 months of undergraduate studies (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
  • Remain registered as a full-time student during the program
  • Good knowledge of English or French
  • No proof of IELTS/TOEFL required
