ETH Zurich Scholarship
The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Scholarship for the academic year 2025-2026 offers full support to international students wishing to pursue a master’s degree.
This scholarship covers all living and study expenses, with an amount up to 11,000 Swiss Francs per semester, in addition to a tuition fee waiver.
There are two types of scholarships available: the Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme (ESOP) and the ETH-D Scholarship, which are awarded to outstanding students, whether international or domestic. The main requirement for application is achieving a very high GPA in your bachelor’s degree, within the top 10% of your graduating class.

Eligibility Criteria for ETH Zurich Scholarship
- Required Language: English.
- Eligible Countries: All countries worldwide.
- The primary criterion is achieving a very high result in the bachelor’s degree (top 10% of the bachelor’s program = grade A).

How to Apply for ETH Zurich Scholarship ?
- Scholarship applications for ESOP and ETH-D can be submitted through the Apply system, the electronic system for master’s applications.
- If you are applying for more than one master’s program, a separate application form must be filled out for each program.
- In addition to the documents required for master’s admission, you must upload an initial proposal for your master’s thesis. Details and specifications can be viewed here (PDF, 70 KB).
- You must be the one to develop the initial thesis proposal, adhering to proper scientific citation practices.
- Plagiarism or the provision of misleading information, whether unintentional or deliberate, will lead to exclusion from the admission process or, if discovered later, to the revocation of admission and any scholarships.
- If your program does not require references, you must nominate two referees for your ESOP application.
