Fellowship at KAUST Eligibility
To be eligible for the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Global Fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Candidates should have obtained their Ph.D. degree within the last four calendar years. For applicants in 2024, the Ph.D. must have been awarded after January 2020.
- Applicants must expect to complete their Ph.D. before the start of the fellowship.
- Candidates must be prepared to relocate to KAUST to undertake their proposed research project for three years.
- Applicants must identify a KAUST faculty member in their application who has agreed to host and support their research project, should they be successful.
- Individuals of all nationalities are welcome to apply. Female applicants are encouraged to help improve gender balance in sciences.
- Candidates must meet all of Saudi Arabia’s requirements for obtaining residency status.
Proposal Eligibility :
To qualify for the fellowship, the research proposal must meet the following criteria:
- The proposal should focus on one or more of KAUST’s research priorities: health and well-being, sustainable environment and basic needs, energy and industrial leadership, and the economies of the future.
- The project outline should cover a period of three years.
- Proposals must adhere to the specific budgetary and financial guidelines provided for the call.
- Applicants should use the provided proposal template.
The KAUST Global Fellowship Program supports research projects aligned with the academic programs of KAUST’s three academic divisions:
- Biological and Environmental Science and Engineering (BESE)
- Computer, Electrical, and Mathematical Science and Engineering (CEMSE)
- Physical Science and Engineering (PSE)
