Volunteering in Italy Details
This project is designed to support the initiatives of the Salesiani Salerno Youth Center, which serves children and young people with fewer opportunities. Volunteers will assist in a variety of activities, including football, basketball, volleyball, dance, and after-school educational workshops. In addition to working directly with youth, volunteers will help manage the center’s social media channels and contribute to general logistical support. There is also the possibility to design and lead personalized activities such as music or theater workshops, depending on the volunteer’s interests and skills.

Activity Location and Duration
The volunteer placement will take place in Salerno, Italy, from February 19, 2025, to February 18, 2026. This 12-month experience offers an immersive stay in a culturally vibrant city. Volunteers will also have the chance to participate in various events and workshops organized by the partner organization, Moby Dick ETS.
Volunteering in Italy Benefits
Each volunteer will receive a daily stipend of €6 for personal expenses and €5 for food, totaling €11 per day. The host organization will cover all household utility costs, including electricity and water. Volunteers will also receive a free monthly bus pass, allowing for easy travel throughout the city of Salerno.
Accommodation, Transportation, and Food Arrangements
Volunteers will be housed in the village of San Cipriano Picentino (SA), located 17 km from the activity site in Salerno. The accommodation is shared with five other volunteers, with two separate beds per room. The house includes two bathrooms with showers, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, and a spacious terrace. Free internet access will be provided by the host organization.

Training and Support During the Activity
Volunteers will benefit from continuous training throughout the duration of the project. This includes weekly two-hour Italian language lessons and regular mentoring sessions to provide guidance and support. In addition, volunteers will participate in weekly training sessions with the project coordinator and trainer to enhance their learning and integration.
