Applications are now open for the IUCN Leaders Forum for young leaders from around the world.
The Forum is a unique opportunity for young innovators who are leading innovative projects to conserve nature and biodiversity in their communities, where they will be able to present their solutions and transform them into practical plans under the slogan “Harnessing Innovation to Empower Conservation”, targeting local, national and regional scales.

The OYW Leader 2024 program will help young leaders build lifelong networks with people from all over the world and collaborate with like-minded others.
The program will be held from 08 to 10 October 2024, where all expenses will be covered including flight tickets, accommodation, meals, and the opportunity to explore the beauty of Switzerland.
As the world faces unprecedented environmental challenges, the IUCN Leadership Forum highlights the power of collective action and underscores that working together can shape a brighter, more sustainable future.

Eligibility Criteria of the IUCN Leaders Forum 

  • Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Applicants from all countries around the world are eligible to participate in this program.
  • Applicants must have a proven record of leadership and innovation in areas such as biodiversity, nature conservation, climate change, or sustainable development.
  • Applicants whose initiatives promote equity, intergenerational collaboration, inclusivity, or adopt a rights-based approach to project design and implementation are encouraged.
  • Applicants must be passionate about the environment and climate change and seek solutions to these challenges.
    If applicants are currently working on an innovative solution to the nature, climate and biodiversity crises, they are ideal candidates for the Forum.
  • Applicants must be active in implementing their ideas and projects in their communities and these projects must promote diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.
